What do status effects do?
Status effects change more than damage. Burning speeds enemies up, Poisoned slows them down, and Stunned stops movement without stopping attacks. These differences matter when you choose where to move through a horde.
| Status | Effect |
|---|---|
| Burning | Deals fire damage over time and increases the affected enemy’s movement speed. |
| Poisoned | Deals poison damage over time and slows the enemy. |
| Frenzied | Increases damage, maximum health and movement speed. It can come from auras or pickups such as Frenzon. |
| Healing | Restores health gradually. Enemies can benefit from it too. |
| Oiled | Nuln Oil slows affected enemies and makes them vulnerable to fire damage. |
| Stunned | Temporarily stops movement, but does not stop attacks. |
Pair Nuln Oil with fire
Oiled and Burning work together: Nuln Oil makes targets more vulnerable to fire damage, while a weapon that inflicts Burning supplies damage over time. The slow from Oiled and the speed increase from Burning are separate effects; this does not establish a specific combined movement speed.
An evolution pairing and a status synergy answer different questions. To find the passive associated with a weapon’s upgrade, use the weapon evolution table.
Read the threat before moving closer
A stunned enemy can still attack. A burning enemy can move faster. Healing can help an enemy recover, while Frenzied makes affected units tougher and faster as well as increasing their damage. Keep these effects in mind before treating a disabled or damaged enemy as a safe opening.
These are six announced effects, rather than a complete list with durations or damage multipliers. See Auroch Digital’s status effects explanation for the original overview.
