Weapon evolution combinations

Use this table to plan your October demo upgrades. These community-listed combinations describe the weapon and companion pairing; they do not all share a proven level or chest-timer requirement.

Setting Weapon Companion Result
40K Chainsword Tape Measure Eviscerator Chainsword
40K Lasgun Gauntlet Meltagun
40K Boltgun / Bolter Dice Cube Heavy Bolter
40K Whirlwind Battery Liquid Green Stuff Orbital Bombardment
40K Frag Grenade Bandolier Ripper Pistol
Age of Sigmar Tempest Axes Sabaton Whirlwind Axes
Age of Sigmar Nebulous Sea-Fog Bugman’s Tankard Aquatic Illusions
Age of Sigmar Boltstorm Pistol Dice Cube Typhoon Crossbow
Age of Sigmar Brazier Staff Liquid Green Stuff Master of Runes
Age of Sigmar Rope & Grapnel White Dwarf Ghost of Rhea
Both settings Nuln Oil Hourglass Mordant Earth

The two setting lists share Nuln Oil, so it appears once. Bolter/Boltgun and Frag Grenade/Frag Grenades are alternative labels used for these entries.

Older demo combinations

For Whirlwind Battery, use Liquid Green Stuff in the October pairing list. Older lists that pair it with Tape Measure describe a different or corrected demo entry. Bandolier advice also conflicts between max-level and level-one reports; the successful one-segment example below is why this guide does not give a universal max-passive rule.

How to unlock Bandolier

Get the Boltgun to level 4. The Objectives menu lists this goal with Bandolier as its unlock. If Bandolier never appears among your level-up choices, check that objective first.

Unlocking Bandolier for your save and upgrading it during a run are different steps. The objective does not require a max-level Boltgun. Some players finish the run after completing this objective. It is not clear whether Bandolier can appear before that run ends.

Frag Grenade and Bandolier: Ripper Pistol

The October demo has a successful Ripper Pistol setup with a full Frag Grenade bar and a one-segment Bandolier bar. The same run first picks a card explicitly named Bandolier.

Before the reward Successful setup
Frag Grenade 8 of 8 segments filled
Bandolier 1 of 5 segments filled
Chest source A large gold-outlined enemy dies and leaves a green-arrow chest
Game clock Drop at 10:49; pickup enters the reward screen at 10:51
Reward Ripper Pistol, Gift of Frag Grenade, Level 1

The displayed bars are consistent with Frag Grenade level 8 and Bandolier level 1. This is a reading of the bars, not a tested minimum. The example does not support a rule that Bandolier must be maxed. The 10:51 clock is also an example, not an instruction to wait for a fixed minute.

Look for the green arrow after the large enemy dies, then collect the chest. This example does not guarantee that every gold-outlined enemy drops the same chest or that every chest can award a Gift.

Gifts and evolved weapons

Ripper Pistol and Ghost of Rhea display Gift of Frag Grenade and Gift of Rope & Grapnel respectively. Eviscerator Chainsword and Meltagun display Evolved Chainsword and Evolved Lasgun. The Frag Grenade Gift can still count toward the objective named Evolve the Frag Grenade.

The Level 1 on a reward card belongs to the new reward, not its prerequisite weapon or passive. Do not use that label to choose your upgrade target.

Choosing your next route

For Lasgun access, follow the Kozlowski rescue guide. The demo character list pairs the named survivors with their announced starting weapons. Read how squads work if another trooper appears when you pick up a weapon.
