Where to start
Kozlowski’s locked character entry points you to Imperial Bastion. The route below follows an October demo run with Malum Caedo. It identifies the encounter by the trooper and his guards rather than by a fixed map coordinate.
Find the trooper and clear his guards
- Start a run on Imperial Bastion.
- Find the green-uniformed soldier surrounded by blue-outlined guards.
- Clear the guards around him. A green downward arrow then marks the soldier.
- Move close to the marked soldier to begin the rescue conversation.
Complete the rescue interaction
Advance the thank-you conversation with Next. The named confirmation screen reads Trooper Bartosz Kozlowski JOINS THE BATTLE! Select Accept.
This named joining screen is the useful success signal: a green NPC alone does not mean you have completed Kozlowski’s rescue.
Unlock him in Character Select
- After the run, look for Unlocked: Trooper Bartosz Kozlowski in Completed Objectives.
- Open Character Select and choose Kozlowski.
- Select Purchase and spend 10 gold.
- With Kozlowski purchased, select him and continue with Next.
Rescuing him and buying him are separate steps. If he has joined your run but is not yet selectable for a new run, check the purchase step. The demonstrated route does not establish a victory requirement or prove that Malum is the only character who can rescue him.
Kozlowski’s Lasgun and squad
Kozlowski is the demo’s named Lasgun survivor. The squad-system description says that upgrading his Lasgun brings additional Cadian Shocktroopers. See squads and Keywords for how followers fit into a run, or use Lasgun + Gauntlet to plan a Meltagun route.
